This post is going to be all about “Budget” cafes in Connaught Place because Anurag Teckchandani already posted about the “Top” cafes in Connaught Place. ( Check his article in case you’re cool with spending a fortune on your lunch.)
There are a significant number of cafes/lounges in Connaught Place but take it from me; most of them are not for students on a budget. So, here’s a post to help you get going even when your wallet is not feeling really well. This list is going to be based on personal preference and public reviews. So let’s get into it already.
1. Xero Degrees
This cafe has to top the list if we’re talking about best budget cafes. Started last summer, this cafe has made it’s a way to hearts of a huge number of the crowd because of the attractive prices and amazing food concepts which won’t disappoint you once it hits your taste buds. Take my word for it, they have the most value-for-money menu in the cafe business. The only downside of this cafe is that it has comparatively less seating space as compared to any other cafes in Connaught Place but it’ll still be perfect for a casual outing or even a date.
Address: L-23/9, Middle Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi
Cost for two: ₹600
2. Cha Bar
This beautiful cafe in conjunction with the Oxford book store is what you call a perfect example of minimalistic cafes. With a pure white theme and a beautifully crafted menu, these cafes stand #2 on the list of best budget cafes in Connaught Place; or even Delhi for that matter. (Since they have other branches as well)
Address: N-81, Oxford Bookstore, Connaught Place, New Delhi
Cost for two: ₹500
3. Curries and Kababs
This cafe is not exactly in Connaught Place but is in very close vicinity. Just 5 minutes of drive from the hectic streets of Connaught Place, this cafe has the best Indian food menu of them all. It’s spacious, subtle and the food is delicious; What else do you need?
Address: Shop 42/43, NDMC Market, Bengali Market, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi
Cost for two: ₹600
4. The Masala Trail
This cafe is pretty much underrated for an unknown reason but takes it from me, they serve amazing food and the ambience is one of it’s kind. Head over to The Masala Trail to have street food with a casual dining experience while still staying under budget. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is pretty much value-for-money.
Address: 52, Janpath, New Delhi
Cost for two: ₹700
5. Caara Cafe
The ambience of this cafe is extremely subtle and exactly opposite to what you’d expect from a cafe near Connaught Place but they have a menu that is specifically made to suit the need of the students. The cafe is extremely simple if you’d judge it for a look but they have so much to offer in terms of taste that you’d be surprised; you’ll have to go to judge for yourself. This is totally one of the best budget cafes in Connaught Place.
6. The Art House Cafe
This is just a pinch over what we call the “budget range” but this has to be on the list because I really want you guys to have an amazing food experience for once. This has the best ambience as compared to any of the cafes in the list and most of the menu is just delicious.
Address: N 35, Ground Floor, Connaught Circus, Block N, Connaught Place, New Delhi
Cost for two: ₹1,100
